A venue second to none

The privacy, seclusion and excellent facilities on offer at Douneside House make it an ideal venue for conferences, meetings, seminars, training and teambuilding events.

It is not just the chance to get away from the everyday distractions and pressures of the workplace that make it so attractive. It is also knowing that our exclusive use policy - we only take one conference booking at a time - and the discretion of our staff, offer you a very secure environment.

The idyllic, inspiring setting helps you get the very best from delegates, and our facilities are a great plus point. As well as our 29 bedrooms (14 in the House itself, the remainder in our nearby cottages) you have full use of our modern leisure facilities.

There is a purpose-built conference room and five more rooms for you to use. There are TV and video facilities, OHP, data and 35mm projectors, screens, whiteboards, flipcharts, a dedicated phone line and wireless internet connection.

We have a wireless laptop and colour printer/copier for delegates' use.

A wide range of businesses and organisations - both large and small, local and international - have held successful events at Douneside House.

The unique qualities of Douneside House, combined with a competitive tariff make it a conference location that is second to none.

"I have been running my meetings at Douneside for about fourteen years now, and will return once or twice a year until I drop off my perch! Why do I do it?

  • First, it is the perfect setting, with peace and quiet and the most beautiful gardens and grounds
  • Second, it is the wonderfully unobtrusive service of all your expert team there. Everything happens precisely to time, and the accommodation is always spotlessly clean and comfortable
  • Third, the food is so very good...
  • ...and finally it is all such tremendous value for money
I never have to worry about 'domestic matters' at Douneside. It all works like clockwork."
