The Tariff has been updated on 9 April (to take effect from 1 May 2008).

This has been necessary due to ever increasing food and energy prices.

  • 3 nights for the price of 2 - 6-9 March 2009
  • 10% discount 1st week of May
  • 10% discount during October

25% Operational Tour Discount

25% discounts for those serving or returning from theatres of operations.
We are now offering 25% discount to officers serving or returning from theatres of operations, either whilst on R&R, or within 3 months of return. This discount also applies if your husband or wife is serving in a theatre of operations and you wish to take a break at Douneside with your children.  Three caveats apply:

  • Only one discounted stay per tour.
  • The 25% discount cannot be combined with any other promotion running at the time.
  • Minimum of 30 days in theatre applies.  On booking you will be asked for the dates of your operational tour (without compromising security).

Douneside's Wi-Fi link
We have recently installed a wi-fi link at Douneside which means that internet access is available in the main house.

Also, we now provide a wi-fi linked laptop and printer for guests' use (in the conservatory).

Centenary Doo'cot and Doves

The date above the front door of Douneside House is 1907.  It was decided to commemorate the Centenary last year by having a doo'cot (dovecot) made, representing the shape of Douneside House.  The doo'cot is mounted on the wall at Lalimli (opposite the Leisure Centre entrance).  There are several pairs of pure white, fan-tailed garden doves now living and breeding in the doo'cot.  They can be seen soaring above the House with their tail feathers splayed, which looks stunning against a deep blue sky.
