Douneside House is a country house hotel situated in the Scottish Highlands, steeped in history and full of character. A warm welcome awaits!
Douneside House is a very special place to visit, stay or dine. Set within the grounds of the MacRobert Estate in Aberdeenshire, the main House features our conservatory restaurant with views of the terrace garden, a cosy bar and public rooms and 13 beautiful guest rooms. Each guest room has been designed in a classic-contemporary style, whilst retaining important elements of Douneside’s original character through the careful placement of individual pieces of antique furniture and precious artwork. Within the grounds, there is a range of apartments and cottages – ranging from 1-3 bedrooms. Individual in style and size, each has been designed and furnished to ensure a comfortable stay.
Douneside House is owned by The MacRobert Trust, an Aberdeenshire based grant making charity, so all profits are re-invested in the property and grounds or donated to charitable causes.
Guest can not only enjoy exploring our 17 acres of gardens but also the miles of trails and walks direct from our doorstep.
Guests staying at Douneside House or the Douneside cottages can take advantage of our Health Club. After a day spent hiking in the surrounding hills, fishing in the nearby river, or golfing at the local course, there is no better way to unwind than with a relaxing yoga class or refreshing dip in the pool, followed by a visit to the steam room or sauna. You may of course prefer to spend a leisurely few hours in the Douneside library, browsing our extensive range of books next to a roaring open fire while sipping a wee dram…
Our award-winning Head Chef will then indulge you with a true Scottish dining experience. The carefully crafted menu showcases seasonal, locally sourced produce, perfectly complemented by our extensive wine and whisky list.
Our breathtaking location, coupled with comfortable accommodation, outstanding facilities and a passionate, attentive team, will ensure that your stay with us here in the Scottish Highlands is a truly memorable one.
